Schenna is situated in a sunny idyllic location on the south-western slope above Meran and surrounded by the mountain peaks of the Ifinger and Hirzer (s. photo). The village is made up of Verdins, St. Georgen, Schennaberg, Untertall and Obertall. Schloss Schenna was built here in 1350. It is one of the many castles and palaces in the region of Meran that can still be visited today. From the 14th until right into the 19th century Schenna even held the office of judge that was afterwards assumed by Meran. A warm welcome between history and the present day, between culture and every kind of entertainment!

Come to Schenna for a relaxing, exciting, fascinating and sociable time.

Strolling among the flowers.
The Gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle, located below Schenna, fill us with enthusiasm for plants from all over the world. Walks wind their way up the slope through water and terrace gardens . They lead to the sun gardens or the Japanese garden, to the cacti and succulent hill or to cultivated plants from the south, such as olive trees and vines.
It is open from mid-March to mid-November.
