The Merano Racecourse is one of the largest and most beautiful equestrian sports facilities in Europe.
Probably the most important horse race is the Grand Prix Merano, which has been held since 1935 and is also the final race at the Merano racecourse.
Trainers, jockeys and racing teams from all over Europe come to Merano to fight for the coveted victory in the main race.
The meeting with high-class flat and obstacle tests takes place over 2 race days (28-29 september): Saturday with the traditional Nations' Cup and the Grand Hurdle Race of Merano and Sunday with the whole interest in the Grand Prix of Merano South Tyrol, the most important and prestigious obstacle race in Europe. A top-class programme that attracts year after year equestrian enthusiasts and media representatives from all over Europe to Merano.
On both days the racecourse opens its gates in the late morning. The guests expect a rich gastronomic offer and a preview of the Merano WineFestival.
