Our commitment to the environment and the future
We also do something for the environment... We have buried 3 water tanks in the hotel grounds, in which we collect rainwater for watering our green areas and balcony flowers.
In our green areas, bees and bumblebees can still find flowers with nectar and pollen even after spring. There is a bee pasture on the playground. Green flat roofs are not only pleasing to the eye, but also provide food for insects, absorb water when it rains and offer better insulation against heat and cold.
Bathing slippers without plastic packaging - at around 1,500 slippers per year, we can save a lot of plastic here. With a few exceptions, we no longer have individual packaging.
Instead of individual packaging, you will find refill dispensers with lotion and soap in our baths.
Our drinking water comes from a spring on the Schennaberg and is ideal for drinking. That's why we also bottle it as our table water. Best quality with 0 km transport. All guests receive a drinking bottle for the journey on arrival to avoid plastic bottles.
Paper napkins and toilet paper are made from FSC-certified production or recycled paper. We also only use recycled paper in the office.
We use South Tyrolean organic hay milk and thus support sustainable agriculture. 99% of our dairy products and apple juice come from South Tyrol.
A photovoltaic system on our roof supplies part of the electricity we need and heat is stored when there is excess solar energy.
There are shutters in all rooms to darken the rooms and keep them cool in summer.
In the dining room, we do without tablecloths and table runners, thus saving 50 kg of dirty laundry every day.
We produce our own chlorine for the swimming pool from salt, water and electricity. It is not so highly concentrated and therefore ensures better water quality and hygiene. At night, we cover the outdoor pool with a roller shutter, which keeps the heat in the water and the leaves out.
South Tyrol has such good wine that it is not difficult for us to offer only local wine. We have beer from our local breweries: Forst and Antonius.
We buy large containers of cleaning products and then refill them ourselves in smaller, more convenient spray bottles. We also refill the soap and body lotion dispensers ourselves, thus saving a lot of plastic waste.
With the South Tyrol Guest Pass, all our guests can use public transport free of charge and leave their car at home.
We offer charging stations for electric cars in all garages and car parks (for a fee).
