At HILBURGER, sustainability is part of how we think and act every day. Our efforts have been recognised with the South Tyrolean Sustainability Label (Level 2). But for us, it’s never about certificates. It’s about focusing on what truly matters: avoiding what can be avoided, and taking responsibility where we can make a real difference. Countless small actions add up to something greater – helping to protect our beautiful natural landscape and enhance quality of life. Every guest is invited to share this mindset with us and be part of a more mindful way of travelling.

  • On-site electricity generated by photovoltaic systems
  • High-quality 0-km drinking water from the Schenna mountain
  • Rainwater used for garden irrigation
  • Pool cover to reduce heat loss
  • Roller shutters in all rooms for blackout and thermal insulation
  • Green flat roofs for thermal insulation, rainwater retention and as habitats for insects
  • Wildflower meadow to support biodiversity
  • Chlorine-free pool water treatment using salt electrolysis – gentle on people, animals and the environment

Plastic & Paper

  • Each guest receives a reusable water bottle for on the go
  • Slippers without plastic packaging
  • Paper napkins and toilet paper from FSC-certified sources
  • Recycled copier paper
  • No table linen
  • No single-use packaging at the buffet

Cosmetic & Cleaning

  • Refillable dispensers for soap and lotion in the bathrooms
  • Environmentally friendly cleaning products in large containers 

Food & Wine 

  • Regional products with short transport distances are preferred
  • Fruit and vegetables, where possible, sourced from South Tyrol
